Homemade Kaya Senang Yang Amat Recipe.

Made home made kaya last night! It is safe to say that I will never buy store-bought kaya ever again. My first attempt was a bit on the sweeter side. I need to tone down the sugar for my next jar. But now, if I am ever out of ideas for presents, you can expect a jar of kaya from me!

Whisk 5 egg yolks. Set aside. Heat 200ml coconut milk with 6 cut pandan leaves and 200g of palm sugar in a pan. Pinch of salt. Boil water in another pot. Put the pan with coconut milk, on the pot like double boiler. Remove pandan leaves. Slowly stir in the yolks, constantly stirring, scraping the side. Stir until thick. Cool before packing.
